Trio Dumas

It started in 2007 with three friends who wanted to hang out together in Budapest for a week, and play some music together. The marathon concert which followed at the Bartok memorial house in Budapest included solo sonatas by Bartok, Veress, and Ligeti, and the string trio by Dohnanyi. Since we were presenting ourselves as soloists as well as chamber musicians, the name, Dumas, seemed obvious – all for one and one for all. Since then, Chaim Steller (viola) and Örs Kőszeghy (cello) and I have been playing together a few times per year, mostly in The Netherlands, but occasionally in Germany and Hungary as well. We recorded for the Hungaroton label in 2008 with clarinetist Laszlo Horvath, and in 2009 won Hungary’s Sandor Veress prize. But most importantly, we have remained good friends throughout the years.
